Rhonda Ward is an eighth generation Texan with family roots deep in State Senate District 3. Rhonda is a successful business owner with more than 35 years of firsthand experience in day-to-day operations, making payroll, and weathering market fluctuations. She is the owner and lead appraiser of East Texas Appraisal Services. An expert in real estate, Rhonda holds both a certified real estate appraiser license and a property tax consultant license. As a licensed property tax consultant, Rhonda protests homeowners’ property tax increases and has never lost a case.
Rhonda is the only candidate running for State Senate with the experience to slash property taxes for homeowners. Rhonda has real-world case studies of the burden placed on hardworking Texans from property taxes. Her goal is to put property taxes on a path to eventual elimination. This is Rhonda’s top priority.
Rhonda is the immediate past State Republican Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 3 and is a past president of Nacogdoches County Republican Women. She is a past Chair of the Nacogdoches County Appraisal Review Board and current chair of the Nacogdoches Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Rhonda and her husband, Jason, were high-school sweethearts at Center High School and married soon after graduation. They celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary just before Jason passed in 2024. Rhonda and her family are lifelong members of the agriculture community. Rhonda is a grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren who are carrying on the family’s cowboy culture.
