Fires broke out in several Trinity County towns, and firefighters answered the call.

On Jan. 14, Groveton Volunteer Fire Department was called out to Josserand Road near Woodlake for a fire in a mobile home.

Fire Chief Glenn Hammond said the crew got the blaze contained quickly, but the home sustained heavy damage to the interior.

The probable cause was electrical, he said. Trinity VFD and Pennington VFD were called for mutual aid.

No injuries were reported.

On Sunday, Trinity Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Sportsman Drive in Trinity Cove just before noon.

Fire Chief Keith Johnson said four trucks and 16 firefighters responded to smoke showing from the roof of the residence. Once there, firefighters located a fire in the attic.

He said 356 Fire Dept responded with additional tankers and firefighters to assist, and the fire was contained in about an hour and totally out after another hour.

Trinity County Sheriff's Department and Ventura EMS also assisted at the scene. The residence was heavily damaged, but no injuries were reported.

Early Thursday, Trinity VFD responded to a structure fire in Port Adventure to assist 356 Fire Deparment. Two trucks responded with seven firefighters, and upon arrival 356 firefighters had the fire under control.  The fire appears to have started in the kitchen.

No injuries were reported.

Also on Thursday, Trinity responded to a fully involved car fire on Highway 19 North at McManners Road. Two trucks responded as well as mutual aid provided by the Lovelady Fire Department.

No injuries were reported, Johnson said.
