NACOGDOCHES — The season was one of ups and downs for the Groveton Indians, but the effort was there, leading the team to the 2A playoffs.
However, on Friday, the season ended with a 62-35 lost to San Augustine.
Head Coach Scott Green said there wasn’t much to say about the game, since his opponent was a very good team, but he also said he was very proud of the way his players competed.
“I’ve said this over and over, ‘We never quit,’” Green said.
Senior running back Ramello Wolfe posted a great game, rushing 103 yards on 15 carries.
“I've enjoyed every minute spent this season teaching these young men the game of football,” Green said. “What we do from this day forward is going to make us better as a team. I’m looking forward to our off-season program.
“We are headed in the right direction and we must continue to build,” he said.
