Trinity brings home the silver at Big Sandy Tournament

The Lady Tigers went 3-1 at the Big Sandy Tournament, good enough to bring home the silver.

Trinity fell to East Chambers 48-41 on Saturday.

The road to the finals included a 70-16 win over Hull-Daisetta on Thursday and a 49-28 win over Hargrave and a 47-34 win over Big Sandy on Friday.

Against East Chambers, Mariah Tyson racked up 12 points and 20 rebounds.

Against Big Sandy, Tyson earned 16 points and 18 rebounds, and Emma Sustaita added 14 points.

Against Hargrave, Paetyn Jolly led the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Tyson added 13 rebounds.

Against Hull-Daisetta, Tyson posted 19 points and 17 rebounds, and Bree Davidson added 15 points.

On Dec. 2, Trinity posted 61-49 win over Slocum. Tyson racked up an impressive 27 points with a 77 percent completion rate from two-point range. She also added 11 rebounds.

Centerville

The Lady Bulldogs went 2-2 at the weekend’s Slocum Tournament.

On Thursday, Centerville beat Slocum JV 55-28 but lost to Troup 27-32.

On Friday, Centerville lost to Palestine Westwood 33-41.

On Saturday, the girls downed Latexo 57-27 to earn their seventh win on the season, surpassing last year’s win total.

On Dec. 2, Centerville downed Chester 54-26.

Groveton

The Lady Indians dropped three straight at the Zavalla tournament over the weekend.

On Thursday, Groveton lost to Good Samaritan HomeSchool 22-21, and then fell to host Zavalla 56-17.

On Friday, Groveton lost to Warren 49-13.
