TRINITY — The Tigers started strong against the Coldspring Trojans on April 7, but the bats dried up in the last 5 innings and Coldspring took the 7-3 win.
Coldspring drew first blood with a score in the first, but Trinity fired right back with two runs. The Tigers added a third in the second, the last time the team would hold the lead.
The Trojans scored three in the third, then three more to put the game away.
Austin Beasley had full mound duty, throwing 6 strikeouts and giving up only 1 walk, but allowing 7 hits.
At the plate, Trinity managed only 2 hits — singles by Brady Arnold and David Alexander — but did take some advantage of 11 walks.
In the follow-up on Friday, Trinity lost 12-2 to Coldspring.
Brady Arnold and Austin Beasley provided the only hits for the Tigers, while Arnold and Hunter Ogden shared mound duty and produced 7 strikeouts while giving up 6 hits.
The Indians won twice on the diamond last week.
On Tuesday, Groveton beat Hemphill 14-5 at home.

Blake Chaney went 3-4 with 3 singles, 2 RBI, and two runs scored.

Chanyen Hollis went 2-5 with 2 singles, an RBI, and a run scored.
Jasper Due went 1-4 with a single.
Jace Taylor went 0-1 with 3 walks and a run scored.
Trystin Ard went 2-2 with 2 singles, a walk, a hit by pitch, an RBI, and 3 runs scored.
Ty Torregrossa got the win in relief. He threw three innings, allowing one earned run on 3 hits with 3 strikeouts and no walks.
On Thursday, Groveton run-ruled Colmesneil 13-0 in 6 innings.

The Bulldogs notched their third- and fourth-straight shutouts, bringing the season total to seven after downing Wells 11-0 on April 7 and 14-0 on Friday.
Those wins also put Centerville’s record at 12-0 for the season and ranked 3rd in 1A.
On April 7, Hardy Brown kept Wells at bay, throwing a 5-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts to claim the win. Brown gave up only one walk on the night.
At the plate, Wyatt Clede owned the box, going 2-for-3 with a home run and 5 RBIs. Kolt Larsen and Brandon McWhorter each added two hits, and Brown added one.
In Friday’s second act, Kolt Larsen also tossed a no-hitter in his time on the mound, which was short as the game was called on the run rule.
Larsen, McWhorter and Eli Emmons each had two hits, with Larsen hitting his first dinger of the season. The Bulldogs combined for eight hits, but owned the base paths with 11 steals on the night.
A 4-3 win over Brookeland on Friday gave the Eagles a four-game win streak and an 8-3 overall record.
Apple Springs combined for seven hits on Friday, with two each coming from Tristin Eddings and Angel Reyna.
Cooper Campbell and Rance Howell combined for pitching duties, combining for nine strikeouts while giving up only six hits.
On Wednesday, Apple Springs blanked Burkeville 15-0 in a game ended after 3 ½ innings. Howell and Campbell teamed up in the circle again, allowing only one hit and one walk while tossing nine strikeouts.
At the plate, there were 15 Bulldog hits, with Eddings, Jose Ocasiones, Campbell, Howell, Kaden Roden, Peyton Williams and Drake Pierce rocking two hits apiece.
