COLDSPRING — Despite valiant efforts, the Lady Trojans downed the Trinity Lady Tigers twice last week, 14-4 on April 2 and 16-0 on Friday.

Assistant Coach Madalyn Smith said that in the April 2 game Trinity fought in the beginning. The standout was Skyler Knight with 2 home runs.

Mariah Lewis provided the lone hit in the Friday game, which ended in 3 innings.

Groveton

The Lady Indians continue their romp through district, downing Corrigan-Camden 12-2 on April 2 and taking a doubleheader against Cushing on Friday, 18-1 and 16-1.

Boys

Trinity

The Tigers were overpowered by Coldspring last week, losing 15-0 on April 2 and 22-4 on Friday.

Apple Springs

The Eagles took two wins from Highway 94 rivals Centerville last week, beating the Bulldogs 9-2 on April 2 and 12-2 on Friday.

In the April 2 game, Dakota Campbell and Tristen Eddins each had 2 hits apiece, with Eddins posting 3 RBIs, to lead the Eagles’ offense. The two also shared mound duty, combining for 9 strikeouts while giving up 2 runs on 8 hits and walking only 1.

For the Bulldogs, Eli Emmons had 3 hits, including a double, while Brandon McWhorter and Wyatt Clede each chipped in 2 apiece to lead the offense. Ty Havard, Emmons and Clede each spent time on the mound, with Clede tossing 11 strikeouts.

On Friday, Eddins led the Eagle offense by going 4-for-4 with a double and scoring 4 runs. Zeth Dugat and Campbell had mound duty, with Campbell tossing 10 strikeouts.

Stats for Centerville were not immediately available.

Groveton

The Indians won two against Cushing last week, 3-1 on April 2 and 10-3 on Friday.

In the April 2 game, Dax Parker had the hot bat, going 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Tanner Steubing dominated the mound, allowing only one run on two hits while striking out 11.

On Friday, Parker, Jake Plotts, Jack Sullivan and Cash Moore each had 2 hits apiece to lead the offense. Plotts and Ty Torregrossa shared mound duties, combining for 8 strikeouts while allowing only 3 runs and 3 hits.
