On Monday evening, Woodville ISD hosted a grand opening of the new Woodville Elementary campus. Members of the WISD Board of Trustees, along with administrators Lisa Meysembourg (superintendent); Ashley Weatherford (assistant superintendent of academics) and WES principal Allison Moseley are shown cutting the ribbon. As part of the festivities, WES student and Alabama-Coushatta Tribe member Teagan Langley performed a Plains Indian Sign Language recitation of a parable of how important a quality education is to indigenous people. As WISD board president Jimmy Tucker said, “It’s a great day to be an Eagle.” – CHRIS EDWARDS | TCB
