Barbara Arrant Winters, 88, of Woodville, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026 at Dogwood Trails Manor Nursing Home in Woodville, Texas.
Visitation will be held 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery all in Woodville. Officiating will be Brother Larry Trest. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Winters, Billy McClelland, James McClelland, Curtis Pierson, Bradley Pierson, and Zachery Pierson. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Christopher and John Winters.
Barbara was born December 19, 1937 to Carol Cornelious and Ethel Elvary Hall Arrant in Woodville, Texas. She enjoyed all kinds of art, including ceramic, oil painting, watercolors, and sewing. She retired from Tyler County Hospital, having also worked at Woodville Health & Rehab, and several other local employers. Barbara’s love was for her family. She loved being a mom. She was a member of the Old Shiloh Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carol and Ethel Arrant; husband of 60 years, J.T. Winters; and daughter, Rita McClelland;
She is survived by sons, Ralph Winters and wife Kim of Woodville, and Richard Winters and Lisa Alexander of Woodville; daughters, Rebecca Darby and Ben of Trinity and Risa Pierson and husband Thomas of Zavalla; brother, Jack Arrant of Vidor; son-in-law, Cliff Tarver of Woodville; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
