DALLAS – Johnny Brooks, who serves as the chairman, CEO and president of Citizens State Bank, was, last week, named to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas board of directors.

Brooks will serve a three-year term, and was appointed alongside Hunter Hunt, the chairman and CEO of Hunt Energy and Willie Chiang, who is the chair and CEO of Plains All American Pipeline, LP.

Brooks has been in his position with Citizens since September of 2021, through the acquisition of Security Bankshares, which is the parent company of Citizens. He has more than 42 years of experience in the banking sector.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is one of 12 reserve banks that operate under the supervision of a board of directors, which is required by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

Since he was named CEO and president of Citizens, Brooks has overseen the expansion of CSB into several different markets, including the Central Texas region and in Kingwood.

Brooks, prior to his work with CSB, was the chairman and CEO of Commercial Bancshares, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Commerical State Bank. Following the acquisition of CBI, Brooks was the Kingwood Regional Chairman and CEO of First Financial Bankshares, and resigned to pursue the acquisition of a commercial bank, which culminated in the purchase of CSB.
