CASA conducting gift drive

The CASA organization of the Sabine Neches Region is hosting a Christmas gift drive for children in the area, and it lasts until Dec. 8.

CASA, which is an acronym that stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, is an organization devoted to supporting children and families involved in the child welfare system.

CASA volunteers, according to the organization’s website, help provide a consistent presence for children and their families. The Sabine Neches Region CASA services Tyler, Hardin, Jasper, Newton, Orange and Sabine counties.

In Tyler County, the gift drop-off point for the drive is at the Allan Shivers Library. There is an Amazon wish list compiled of different gift requests from children serviced by CASA. That list is accessible through the homepage of the CASA website at: https://www.casasnr.org.

The gifts that CASA children are hoping for range from a Barbie Chelsea Toy Dollhouse to clothing and remote-controlled cars.

CASA services children and youth from ages 0-18. For more information about the volunteer opportunities afforded by CASA, visit the aforementioned website.
