WOODVILLE – In last Monday morning’s meeting of the Tyler County Commissioners Court, the court accepted the resignation of the county’s veterans service officer Tina Cleberg.

Cleberg stated in her letter of resignation that she is stepping down due to medical reasons, and that she appreciated the opportunity in the position to gain more experience in working for her community.

Pct. 1 Commissioner Joe Blacksher said that Cleberg has been struggling with some health issues and that he and County Treasurer Leann Monk have been discussing doing something in the near future to recognize her. “She has done a lot for our veterans,” Blacksher said.

Blacksher said that the need to support the veterans of Tyler County necessitates a search to go ahead and find someone to replace Cleberg. The position is statutory, and the court has to approve the recommended person.

County Judge Milton Powers led those in attendance in saluting Cleberg for all that she has done in her position. “She always went above and beyond,” Judge Powers said.
