COLMESNEIL – The Colmesneil Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) hosted one of the organization’s favorite fundraisers last Friday evening in the old gym on the Colmesneil ISD campus.
The PTO took to social media to issue the following statement: “We had a great time last night. Free kid rides, bucking donkeys and tie breaker dance offs. Congratulations to the Dirty Donkeys on your win! We would like to thank everyone who came out and supported the Colmesneil PTO. Thank you to all of our volunteers; your help was greatly appreciated! Thank you, Dena Kay Settlocker, for being a wonderful announcer. Thank you, Rhonda Bigby, for singing the National Anthem so beautifully. Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors: Gardner Oil, Hello Gorgeous Hair Salon, Jerry’s Saw Shop, Bendy Monuments, Tori Russell, Judalet’s Fire and Ice, A&M Notary Signing Agent, Walling Signs, Gina Fowler, Seaman’s Cattle Company, Local Sanitation, and Gulf Coast Pipeline Services. Most of all, thank you to Colmesneil ISD for letting us use the gymnasium for our event.”
The teams consisted of the Rump Ridaz vs Jack of all Trades in the first match, and the Dirty Donkeys vs the Barnyard Ballers in the second match. Jack of all Trades and the Dirty Donkeys battled it out in the championship game, with the Dirty Donkeys winning it all. Several kiddos lined up for donkey rides at halftime, and they were all adorable, and really enjoyed the chance to ride a donkey.
The stars of the night of course, were the whimsical donkeys, and they had equally inventive names: Ex-Lax, Mr. Ed, Enforcer, Rigor Mortis, Super Stupid, Earthquake, Killer and Elvis.
A fun time was had by all in attendance, and we would
