COLMESNEIL – Traditionally, signing day for high school seniors is a time to recognize seniors who can sign a binding letter of intent to play sports for a collegiate program. For Colmesneil High School seniors, on last Wednesday, their academic achievements, and readiness to go into the workforce or the military, were recognized.
CHS interim principal Becky Yates said that the signing day event to honor seniors who have been accepted to colleges, as well as trade schools and into branches of the military was a way to give recognition.
All students, Yates said, deserve recognition, post-secondary.
Senior class sponsor Coty Squier officiated at the event in the R.B. Moffett Gymnasium, along with Yates, and recognized each graduating senior, and named whatever collegiate institution or career, or military, pathway the student had committed to, each to loud applause from a packed house of family and friends.
