WOODVILLE – The Woodville Eagles came away with their homecoming win against the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans last Friday, with a 43-34 final score.

The win sent the Trojans back home on a losing streak, putting them at 0-3 for the season, and Woodville at a 2-1 season record.

Eagles’ QB Luke Babin had an especially great performance at Eagle Stadium on Friday night, as he threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns. Babin picked up 11.5 yards per attempt and rushed for 44 yards. His 287 passing yards against Coldspring-Oakhurst resulted in a new career high for him.

The game was marked by good playing on both sides of the ball by both teams, with a 21-20 score at halftime, a one-point Eagle lead.

Although the Trojans improved on their offense, steadily, through the second half, it wasn’t enough to best the Eagles, who have averaged 40 points over the past two games, both victories.

This week, the Eagles take on the Diboll Lumberjacks at Lumberjack Stadium, with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
