The Yellowjacket boys’ basketball teams faced the Groveton Indians over the Thanksgiving break.
The Varsity Yellowjackets beat the Indians 62-38. Kasen Citrano was high point with 26. Hunter Luther had 12, PJ Purvis had 9, Turner Johnson scored 7, Gus David and Bryson Swanson each scored 4. The JV squad came out behind with a score of 14-30. Jasper Burke scored 7 points, Weston Wiseman scored 3, Cainan Kosina and Henry David each scored two.
This week the Jackets will participate in the Big Sandy Tournament on Dec. 5-7 with times TBD. On Dec. 10 the Jackets will host Beaumont Harmony with game time at 6 p.m.
The Lady Jacket basketball team had the week off but will resume play this weekend participating in the Apple Springs tournament on Dec. 5-7 as well. Game times have not been determined yet. Next week, the Lady Jackets will travel to Spurger on Dec. 10 to face the Lady Pirates in district play.
