WOODVILLE – The gifts just keep on giving with Christmas activities in Tyler County. This Saturday, Dec. 14, Heritage Village is hosting a new event, the Kids Winter Festival.
The event, which begins at 6 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m. will feature plenty of family friendly fun, including a Christmas movie screening and letters to Santa Claus.
“Come join us for Heritage Village’s first Kids Winter Festival. Come get your pictures with Santa, enjoy hot chocolate, sugar cookies, a hayride, Christmas lights and a free movie,” said Norman Teague, a Tyler County Heritage Society board member and volunteer at the Village.
The festival is Teague’s brainchild, and he said there is plenty of fun to be had that is free for all to enjoy, as well as ticketed items during the event.
For a $25 ticket, attendees get a 4x6” picture with Santa; hot chocolate; sugar cookies; a souvenir silver bell and a hayride. Those items can be purchased individually, as well, if no ticket is purchased.
The movie will begin at 7:30 p.m.
For the letters to Santa mailbox, Teague said that if a letter is written, to please include the child’s name on the back, as well as a good phone number “so Santa can call the child back closer to Christmas,” on the evening of Dec. 21.
Organizers are asking that attendees RSVP to the event, by calling 409-283-2272.
