The Lady Jacket volleyball team finished the first round of district play undefeated, winning both games at home this past week.
On Tuesday they beat the Leggett Lady Pirates three sets to none with scores of 25-8, 25-5, and 25-9. Josie Pecina led aces with 7, Sadie Garsee had 6, Lily Payne had 5, Kennedi Wilson had three, Lauren Citrano and Marae Pounds each had two, Abby Bittick and Jorja Barnes helped with one. Ty Cochran led kills with 8, Lauren Citrano had 7, Lily Payne and Harley Jones each had three, Abby Bittick, Tegan Toler, and Lillie Byrd had one kill each. Bittick and Toler each had 10 assists while Marae Pounds had three and Ty Cochran and Josie Pecina helped with one assist each.
On Friday, Oct. 3, the Lady Jackets beat Goodrich in the second round of district with scores of 25-13, 25-6, and 25-8. This week the Lady Jackets will travel to Richards on Tuesday, Oct. 7, with a 4:30 p.m. start time. On Friday, Oct.10 the Lady Jackets will travel to Leggett for a 4:30 p.m. game.
The Yellowjacket football team will be on the road this week traveling to Huntsville to face Alpha Omega on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m.
