Mark Odom, 71, of Woodville, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville, Texas.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 12 noon service time on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home with Fireman and Masonic graveside service following in Magnolia Cemetery all in Woodville.  Officiating will be Father Ron Fosage and Jimmy Tucker.  Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Odom, Charley Shaw, Mark Odom III, John Odom, Joseph Odom, Charles Odom, Jason Kniss, and Trevor Odom.  Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Shane, Jimmy Tucker, Jimmy Watts, Michael Watts, Eloy Gomez, and Drew Tucker.

Mark was born November 27, 1954 to Henry Martin and Mary Frances Watts Odom in Woodville, Texas.  A 1972 graduate of Buras High School in Buras, Louisiana.  He was a longtime resident of Woodville.  Mark retired after 14 years from the Texas Department of Transportation as Maintenance Supervisor from 2007 – 2021.  He enjoyed making gavels and keychains out of deer antlers.  He also enjoyed finding good restaurants to eat with his wife Myra.  A 32nd degree Mason, he was an Endowed member of the Woodville Magnolia Masonic Lodge #495 AF & AM. and was a Shriner.  Mark served with the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years retiring as a Captain.  He also formerly served as the Chief of the Ivanhoe Fire Department.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Woodville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Odom; grandparents, Pete and Martha Watts, and George and Effie Odom.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Myra Odom of Woodville; mother, Mary Frances Odom Coward of Woodville; Stephen Odom and wife Jamie of Brenham; daughter, Lyndsay Odom and fiancé Shane Murphy of Woodville; brother John Odom and wife Lisa of Santa Fe, TX; grandchildren, Charley Shaw, Maddie Odom, Mark Odom III, Lily Shaw, Mia Odom, and Meredith Odom.
