TYLER COUNTY – The Tyler County Sheriff ’s Office is asking the public for help in locating Phillip Lawayne Winkle, a 56-year-old Spurger man.
According to Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, Winkle is wanted for three charges: possession of a controlled substance (motion to adjudicate); failure to register (motion to adjudicate) and failure to comply with registration requirements (motion to adjudicate).
Winkle is known to stay in the Spurger area, and is a White male, standing 6’1” and weighing 210 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Winkle is reported as having absconded, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) database. He was convicted in 1996 for sexual assault of a child.
