I would like to formally announce my candidacy for Woodville ISD School Board Place 1.
I have been a resident of Woodville my whole life and am a graduate of Woodville HS, class of 2012. I take pride in where I grew up. Woodville has always been home to me.
Growing up I was very involved in school. I participated in many different clubs and sports. I was active in HOSA and National Honor Society, as well as, participating in sports such as softball, volleyball and cheerleading.
I graduated from the TCH LVN school of nursing here in Woodville and then went on to obtain my ADN RN from Angelina College. For the past 12 years, I have had the privilege of serving my community through my work in nursing. Throughout my career, I have worked at Tyler County Hospital, in home health, and currently as a hospice nurse, where I have the honor of caring for patients in their homes during some of the most important and meaningful moments of their lives.
I am also a member of First Baptist Church of Woodville and served for three years on the Board of Directors for Jacobs Ladder Learning Center. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to serve the people and families in our community, both through my profession and through my involvement in local organizations.
Running for School Board this year came after a lot of thought and prayer. As a parent with 2 children who attend Woodville ISD, I would love to become involved and help shape the future of our children.
If elected my focus will be to:
•Improve education and provide opportunities for our kids by supporting academic and vocational programs
•School safety
•Support and listen to our teachers, staff, parents, and community members to make informed decisions that put our district first
I believe strong schools are built through responsible leadership, transparency, accountability, and a commitment to working together for the benefit of our students, staff, families, and the entire Woodville community.
Becoming involved in the community and with the school is a step forward into helping shape the future of our kids and being a voice for fellow parents.
It would be an honor to have your support and to be able to earn your vote.
