DAM B – The Tyler County Sheriff’s Office recently made a pair of arrests in the Dam B/Town Bluff area for narcotics last week.

On Sunday, Dec. 7, deputies arrested both Billie Jo Shanley and Lynette Miles in two separate incidents the same day.

During the early morning hours, at approximately 2:25 a.m. according to Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, patrolling deputies along FM 92 stopped a Kia Nitro for a traffic violation. Weatherford said that the deputies spoke with several individuals who were in the vehicle, and developed probable cause and consent to search the vehicle while speaking to the driver.

A bag of methamphetamine was discovered, and one of the passengers, Billie Jo Shanley, a 44-year-old Dam B resident, admitted that the drugs belonged to her.

Weatherford said that Shanley had told deputies that she’d planned to deliver it to an ex-co-worker who had asked her to find some meth.

Shanley was taken into custody, and transported to the Tyler County Jail, where she was charged with felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance for the 4.4 grams of meth. Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Mike Hughes set her bond at $50,000.

Later in the day, at 11:30 p.m., deputies in the Town Bluff area stopped a Nissan Frontier for a traffic violation, and identified the driver as Lynette Miles, a 52-year-old Town Bluff resident. The deputies were able to develop probable cause and were given consent to search her vehicle. During the search, the deputies turned up two baggies of methamphetamine, and several items of drug paraphernalia. The amount of meth confiscated was 8.9 grams.

Miles was taken into custody, and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Tina Self set her bond at $50,000.
