NACOGDOCHES – The Warren FFA Forestry Team completed their Career Development Season by traveling to the state contest in Nacogdoches where Team #1 finished as the sixth-place team and Team #2 finished as the ninth-place team in the entire state.
Team 1 consisted of Harley Kelley, Zeb Harrod, Wyatt Fowler and Landon Bell
Team 2 consisted of Sophie Smith, Peter Redecop and Cole West.
Unlike UIL competitions FFA contests are not divided by school size or class meaning these young people competed, and beat, schools that were much larger.
Career Development Events are designed for students to showcase real life skills they have been taught in the classroom and can put to practice in future careers. These contests are part of the TEKS and curriculum for AG education and showcase the 3-circle Model of AG Education.
FFA adviser Jacob Spivey said “It was a hard-fought contest season, and we are proud of our Forestry Team.”
