Woman arrested on warrants

WARREN – A Warren woman was arrested last week on several felony warrants, according to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford.

Weatherford said that Amber Renee Boyett, age 31, was taken into custody last Wednesday after deputies attempted to serve the felony warrants at a residence east of Warren. According to Weatherford, Boyett ran out of the back door of the residence, and fled to a nearby wooded area, after she was made aware of the warrants by the deputies.

After a brief pursuit, she was arrested and transported to the Tyler County Jail. Her charges include: felony abandonment/endangerment to a child; felony possession of a controlled substance (penalty group 1/1-B, greater than one gram); evading arrest, or detention, with previous convictions and assault that causes bodily injury to family member. All of those charges are state jail felonies, save for the assault charge, which is a class A misdemeanor.

Pct 1 Justice of the Peace Tina Self ser her bonds at a combined $105,000. Boyett was transferred to the Angelina County Jail, which has an overflow interlocal agreement with Tyler County.
