WOODVILLE – A joint operation between several law enforcement agencies resulted in an arrest of a Woodville man recently for a litany of drugs and weapons charges.

Christopher George Tubb, 52, was arrested on Monday, August 18, according to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford. Weatherford said that his office, along with the Tyler County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) had conducted an organized crime/narcotics investigation, and were able to execute a search and arrest warrant at a residence east of Woodville to arrest Tubb.

Tubb, who is a convicted felon, having been convicted and sentenced for the crime of methamphetamine possession in 2019, is prohibited from possessing firearms. Law enforcement found eight firearms in the residence, along with 340 grams of methamphetamine and three ounces of marijuana.

Tubb was taken to the Tyler County Jail, and charged with felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance; possession of marijuana and eight counts of unlawful possession of firearm by felon. He was assessed total bonds at $875,000 by Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Tina Self.

“I want to personally thank the employees of the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office, the Tyler County District Attorney’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and all local law enforcement agencies for their assistance and unwavering support to fight crime and keep Tyler County safe,” Weatherford said.
