Special to the Booster

WOODVILLE — The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is proud to announce the third annual VFW Day of Service — a dedicated day of service led by veterans throughout the country and the world — will kick off the first Saturday in May, the fourth, marking the start of veteran-led community service projects to take place throughout the month.

VFW Post 2033 will be participating in this year›s VFW Day of Service by collecting downed branches from the community and on May 4 VFW members and the City of Woodville will be turning those branches into wood chips to beautify Woodville city buildings and Businesses.

Downed branches can be dropped off at the VFW Post at 301 Veterans Way, across from Oscar›s Automotive, or citizens of Woodville can contact J.W. Kern at 409-951-9977 to have branches picked up.

Businesses may contact J.W. Kern or our Post Commander, Michael King, for their interest to have wood chips delivered free of charge.
