Denise Holland died on Aug. 3, 2026 in Houston, Texas with her husband Adam by her side. She was born in October 1960.
She was Stella Sawyer’s great-great granddaughter and the last relative who personally knew Stella. Denise remembered the home and other memories as a wedding present given to Stella by her husband Albert Leroy Sawyer. He built the 1899 historical Sawyer House in Livingston. Her efforts, along with the Polk County Historical Commission, culminated with a marker that graces the home as an official historical place. Holland donated the many pictures, furniture, history, and stories about the important Sawyer family legacy in Livingston.
Following hospice care, Denise was cremated in Houston, Texas.
