“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” — Psalm 23:6

Lyndal Lou Klores, 80, of Chester, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026, in her home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Klores was born July 20, 1946 in Corrigan, Texas to the late Ethel (Bryant) and Roddof Ellis. After graduating from Corrigan High School, she moved to Pasadena, Texas to attend beauty school. It was there she met Raymond Klores, and the two were married in August 1965. She went on to work at the beauty school and teach classes there. When Lyndal and Raymond returned to East Texas, she opened her own beauty shop in Pine Grove and later in Chester. She cared for her clients for more than 30 years before retiring.

Of all the roles she filled in life, none meant more to her than Granny, the name her grandchildren and great-grandchildren lovingly called her. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart, and her true gift was service to others. Lyndal attended Woodville Church of Christ, and her faith was at the center of her life. She ended each day with quiet time reading her Bible, her favorite book being the Psalms. In her spare moments, she could be found with a good book or working on puzzles of every kind.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Raymond Klores; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jesus Gomez of Kyle, Karen and Mark Smith of Etoile, and Jamie Klores of Chester; grandchildren and spouses, Jesus Jr. and Haley Gomez, Kirsten and Joe Stone, Colt Liljequist, Brent Liljequist, Koree Hilliard, and Katherine Hilliard; great-grandchildren, Blair, Jesus III, Karmen, and Jack; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Rose Ellis of Huntington and John and Van Ellis of Corrigan; and sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Milton Powell of Barnum. Lyndal also leaves behind a large extended family of ‘heart’ children and grandchildren who were not hers by birth but were hers in every way that mattered.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, George Ellis.
