The Lady Pirates posted a 16-1 makeup win over Trinity on April 1.

Isabelle Hooper had full control of the game, striking out 8 while allowing only 1 hit, and on offense, she cracked one over the fence as part of her 3 hits and 3 RBIs.

Chloe Fuller, Adison Simpson and Rylei N also contributed 3 hits apiece.

Shepherd edged out the district’s No. 2 team Anderson-Shiro 4-3 on April 2 by 7-6 on Friday.

On Friday, Simpson and Hooper led the offense with 2 hits apiece, while Hooper and Jayci Wilson combined for 16 strikeouts while allowing 11 hits on defense.

On April 2, Wilson and Hooper led the offense with 3 hits apiece, and Wilson and Fuller each cracked a double. Wilson and Hooper combined talents on the mound, tossing 11 strikeouts while allowing only 7 hits and 1 base on balls.

Coldspring

Coldspring swept the Lady Tigers last week, downing Trinity 14-4 on April 2 and blanking the Lady Tigers 16-0 in three innings on Friday.

In the April 2 game, Coldspring had 10 hits including 4 doubles, 1 triple and 1 home run by Olivia Lee. Trinity Rosales pitched for the win.

On Friday, six hits were all it took for the Lady Trojans to finish the sweep of the Trinity Lady Tigers, two coming from Shae Price.

Rosales had the mound again, needing only 4 strikeouts to keep Trinity hitless.

Boys

Coldspring

While the Lady Trojans were dominant on the diamond against Trinity, the Trojans also were racking up wins over the Tigers nearby.

Nolan Beaver managed a no-hitter by on Tuesday with a score of 15-0.

On Friday, the Trojans finished the sweep with a 22-4 drumming of the Tigers.

Shepherd

The Pirates lost a district bid against Anderson-Shiro 6-0 on April 2, and again 8-1 on Friday.
