SHEPHERD — Turnovers made the difference in Shepherd’s Homecoming district loss to Jasper on Friday.
The Pirates fell 35-16 to the Bulldogs.
Both first half turnovers were in the red zone and ended up being very costly to the Pirates. The first quarter closed out with an 8-7 Pirates lead, but the Bulldogs answered quickly in the second quarter. The half ended with a 13-8 Jasper lead.
The second half showed 22 points for the Jasper Bulldogs to 8 for the Shepherd Pirates.
On Friday the Pirates will again be at home to face the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns.
