Tough night for Coldspring as Livingston Lions dominate

The Coldspring Trojans faced a challenging matchup against the Livingston Lions on Tuesday night, ultimately falling 82-41 in a game that highlighted the strength of the 4A Lions against the 3A Trojans.

The game started slowly for Coldspring, with the Trojans managing only five points in the first quarter. Despite finding their rhythm late in the fourth quarter, the deficit was too large to overcome. The Trojans’ scoring breakdown revealed their struggle to keep pace: 5 points in the first quarter, 11 in the second, 7 in the third, and 18 in the final quarter.

Livingston showcased their dominance throughout the game, using their height advantage to control both ends of the court. Their ability to shoot effectively from anywhere made it nearly impossible for Coldspring to mount a comeback.

Despite the tough loss, several Trojans made notable contributions. Eric Sykes led the team with 11 points, while Cadyn Barton added 10. Jayden Kelley and Bryan Douglas chipped in with 6 and 4 points, respectively.

The Trojans went 2-4 at the Buna Tournament over the weekend.

On Thursday, Coldspring won over Pineywoods Community Academy 50-38, but lost to LaMarque 66-38. Then on Friday, the Trojans lost to Lumberton 51-50 and to Shepherd 55-35. On Saturday they won 63-43 over Liberty, but were downed again by Lumberton 50-37.
