COLDSPRING — The Trojans could not stop the Hardin Hornets during the first half of the game, but made up for it in the second half to take away a 32-14 win on Friday over Hardin.

Head Coach Ken Stanley said, “I told the kids at halftime that the defensive stop before the half is why we will win the game.”

It was a very different team that entered the second half of the game, and the Trojans managed to control the tempo and the outcome of the game.

A district win of 32-14 puts the Trojans in a very good position for the playoffs, which will be determined after the last regular season game against Anahuac.

The Trojans had 8 attempts at passing and connected on 5 for 35 yards. Antoine Phillips posted 13 yards receiving, along with Cadyn Barton’s 8 and Dacoryin Barnes’ 3 and T.J. Johnson’s 12.

Tyga Parker posted 161 yards in 12 carries along with Cadyn Barton’s 18 yards on 6 carries. Cookie McGowen had 33 yards on 2 carries along with T.J. Johnson’s 6 yards in 2 carries.
