Bridge maintenance underway on US 190 Lake Livingston bridge

Posted

Work on the US 190 bridge over Lake Livingston between Onalaska and Oakhurst began Monday.

Traffic pattern changes will occur while work to repaint, repair concrete and guard rail, and overlay the bridge deck with epoxy is performed. Temporary traffic signals will be used to control traffic on the bridge.

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the work will not affect access to the Patrick’s Ferry boat ramp.

Wilmington, North Carolina-based contractor Cekra, Inc. is performing the work.

Drivers should plan for possible traffic delays. Use caution when approaching or traveling through the work zone.

Other TxDOT construction and maintenance projects underway in Polk County include:

  • Repair work on the cable median barrier on US 59 in Livingston
  • The US 59 Corrigan Relief Route. Crews will build steel forms, set deck panels, and pour concrete for the northern railroad bridge. Concrete work will continue on the main lanes. Workers will install flex base along the eastbound lanes of US 287. Culvert installation and concrete removal are planned at the north tie-in. Steel forms will be built for bridge railing, decks, and pavement as well.
  • Crews will continue removing asphalt and concrete for crack repairs on US/BU 59 in northern Polk County.
  • Morgan Creek bridge maintenance on US 59. Workers will seal the bridge joints and seed the work area to begin establishing vegetation.
  • The contractor will be forming the bridge slab for the bridge project at Piney Creek on Carmona Road.

Crews will prepare FM 1988 for seal coating. They’ll work on road patching, sign maintenance, and will apply herbicide as well.
