The Trinity Lady Tigers continued their winning ways, going 2-1 over the Thanksgiving break.
After downing Mount Enterprise 38-21 on Nov. 25 and Leon 41-37 in overtime on Nov. 26, the Lady Tigers were overpowered by Grapeland 54-24 on Saturday.
Against Mount Enterprise, the top scorer was Olivia Mills with 15 points, who also had 10 rebounds and 8 steals. Mariah Tyson pulled in 12 rebounds in the win.
Against Leon, Mills once again got 15 points and added 8 rebounds and 7 steals. Paetyn Jolly contributed 11 points and Tyson pulled in 11 rebounds.
Against Grapeland, Nae O’Bryant and Emma Sustaita each had 7 points, while Tyson had 15 rebounds.
Groveton
The Lady Indians played Cayuga and lost at their place 37-27 on Nov. 25.
Leading scorer was Kayleigh Albus with 11 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Lauren Moore with 7 points and Laney Peterson with 4 points and 6 rebounds.
Boys
Centerville
On Nov. 25, Centerville earned its sixth win in a row to start the season with a 86-48 win over former district opponent Neches.
Top producers were Jake Slaten with 38 points, 22 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals; Iain Kendrick with 23 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals; Kolt Larsen with 13 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals; Hardy Brown with 5 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks and 1 steal; Wyatt Clede with 5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals; and Landon Teeters with 2 points and 1 rebound.
Apple Springs
The Eagles split games last week, losing 60-38 to Slocum on Nov. 25 but winning 48-46 over Warren on Nov. 26.
Groveton
The Indians were downed 62-38 by Chester on Nov. 25.
Top scorers were Evert Snyder with 12 points and George Snyder with 11. Snyder also pulled off 4 steals, while Snyder had 4 rebounds.
