TRINITY — After a rough match on Sept. 30 against New Waverly, the Lady Tigers performed much better on Friday against the Lady Trojans.
While Trinity lost 3-0 to Coldspring, they managed to at least make the Lady Trojans work for the wins.
Head Coach Courtney Willis said that after a long, hard talk and reinforcing attitude and effort over everything, the team showed remarkable improvement.
“There unfortunately weren't any standouts Tuesday, because we let the mental game get the best of us and gave up,” she said. “Then on Friday, there was a big turnaround that we have been waiting to see all season — bigger than winning, which was not giving up and enjoying the game.”
On Friday, Freshman Braleigh Bush had 3 aces and 3 kills. Freshman K.K. Ford had 2 aces and 2 kills, Freshman Brooke Jordan had an ace and a lot of attack attempts.
Sophomore Valerie Cleveland had 2 kills, and Senior Carolyn Cleveland had a kill.
The Lady Eagles lost their lone match of the week 3-0 to Oakwood on Sept. 30.
Head Coach Raegyn Moreno said it was a tough match, but the team is looking to bounce back this week as they start the second round of district.
