Groveton runner headed to state

HUNTSVILLE — Lady Indian Jannett Bautista has qualified for the state meet and will run Friday in Round Rock.

The Groveton runner pulled off a 12th place finish in the UIL Region 3 cross country meet held in Huntsville on Oct. 21.

The Groveton boys cross country team placed fifth at the finals, missing state by just a few points.

•Hardy Brown, a freshman from Centerville, ran in the Region 4 cross country meet last week, which was held at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He placed 42nd.
