Lady Indians look forward to postseason

GROVETON — While the Lady Indians split their week’s outings, the team still earned a spot in the playoffs and were to face West Hardin in Richard on Tuesday.

Groveton down San Augustine 3-0 on Oct. 29 but lost to Latexo 3-0 on Friday.

Against San Augustine, the scores were 25-17, 25-7 and 25-9.

Kayleigh Albus led the team with 7 kills, while Caila Antley contributed 5. Alinda Veng led the team with 8 aces.

Darbi Parker managed 12 digs on the night.

Against Latexo, the scores were 20-25, 17-25 and 17-25.

Albus again led with 9 kills, while Alexander served up 5 aces.

Albus also led the team in digs with 21, while Parker and Alexander each had 14 and Veng had 13.

Apple Springs

The Lady Eagles managed a first-round appearance in the playoffs but were defeated by Trinidad 3-1 to end the season.

Scores were 11-25, 17-25, 27-25 and 19-25.
