Lady Indians move to first in district

GROVETON — With a 3-2 win over Shelbyville on Friday, and a 3-0 win over Colmesneil on Oct. 15, the Lady Indians record moves to 6-1 and first-place in district play.

Against Shelbyville, the scores were 25-23, 27-25, 20-25, 19-25 and 15-5.

Kayleigh Albus had the hot hands, pulling off 23 kills, followed by Caila Antley with 13. Albus also led the team with 5 aces and 29 digs.

Darbi Parker contributed 23 digs, followed by Aubrey Alexander with 22.

Against Colmesneil, the scores were 25-15, 25-15 and 25-19.

Albus and Jannett Bautista each popped off 9 kills apiece, and Alexander had 6 aces.

Darbi Parker had 16 digs, followed by Albus with 13 and Antley with 11.

Alexander also had 19 assists.

Trinity

The Lady Tigers were handed a pair of losses last week — 3-0 to Anderson-Shiro and 3-0 to Onalaska.

Scores against Anderson-Shiro were 4-25, 8-25 and 4-25.

Scores against Onalaska were 0-25, 0-25 and 0-25.
