Ronda was born December 10, 1965 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Ronald Leroy Walling and Barbara Sue Cornelius.

She was preceded in death by her sister Rachelle ‘Walling” Huber.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Forrest Archer of Woodville; daughters, Mia Danielle Roberts “Archer” and husband Matthew of Portland, OR, and Susan Renee Archer of Woodville; grandchildren, Vincent Archer Tubb, Abigail Danielle Bergstrom, Gracie Bergstrom, Chloe Isabella Roberts; mother, Barbara Sue Cornelius & husband Jerry of Woodville; father, Ronald Leroy Walling of Big Sandy; brother, Ronnie Walling and wife Lynda of Woodville; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Ronda graduated Summa Cum Laude at Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, and went on to receive two master’s degrees, in Education and Forensic Psychology. She believed there was nothing she couldn’t figure out, and her life proved it.

She taught for several years at Windham ISD and Warren ISD. After teaching, she moved into law enforcement and became an instructor for TCLEOSE, training new peace officer recruits.

Following 9/11, she began her federal career with the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), which later became Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where she served as a firearms instructor and a member of the agency’s shooting marksmanship team. She went on to work as an Asylum Officer in Houston and spent 17 years as an immigration officer with the Department of Homeland Security as a Faud and National Security Officer.

During that time, she also served as an instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Charleston, South Carolina. Over her career, she received numerous awards and certificates for outstanding performance.

Ronda’s faith ran deep. A lifelong student of the Bible, she loved digging into scripture and wrestling with life’s big questions.

She was optimistic, endlessly curious, and full of a unique perspective on life that touched everyone around her. She loved to cook, loved poetry and long conversations, and she was a bright light in so many lives.

Above all, she loved her family fiercely. She was known for her unabashed smile and contagious laugh, and she lived by the words she always shared: “Smile and the world smiles with you.”
