Funeral services for Donald Ray Black, 83, of Point Blank, were held Saturday, Nov. 9, at Point Blank Community Church in Point Blank, with John McDonald officiating. Interment followed at Center Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst. Visitation was held Friday at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska.

Don was born Dec. 19, 1940, in Hobbs, N.M., and passed away Oct. 30, 2024, in Conroe, surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years, Peggy Black; parents, Joe and Rose; stepfather, Maurice; and sister, JoLetha Black.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Black; children, Stacy Grissom with husband, Paul, and Cary Black with wife, Susan; niece, Michelle Delay; grandchildren, Taylor, Joseph, Emily, Katherine, Robert, Lauren, Kelli, and Heather; great-grandchildren, Brynnan, Lyndon, Ezra, Irah, Grace, and Noah; great-niece and nephew, Haile and Joey; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Don was a coach, teacher, and principal. He was a proud member of the Klein ISD community, an avid arrowhead collector, and will be missed by all who knew him.
