Janet Linn, born on August 23, 1942, in Evansville, Ill., passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend to all, who dedicated her life to serving others and embracing every moment with warmth and purpose.
Janet moved to Livingston in 1973 where she became a vibrant member of the community. For over 20 years she worked passionately with children with special educational needs, devoting herself to ensuring every child had the support and opportunities they deserved. Her unwavering dedication touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on families throughout the area.
A devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in Livingston, Janet served in numerous roles, including elder and deacon, always striving to uplift and support her church family. She found great joy in playing bridge and was an active member of several bridge groups. Janet’s adventurous spirit also led her to travel the world, often accompanied by friends and loved ones, creating cherished memories along the way.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Davidson of Spring; her son-in-law, Mark Davidson of Spring; and her granddaughter, Maddy Davidson of Spring, who brought immense pride and joy to her life.
Janet believed that funerals were awkward and uncomfortable, and she wished instead for her loved ones to gather, share stories and raise a margarita in her memory. In honoring her request, friends and family are encouraged to celebrate her life with laughter, love and fond remembrance.
Janet’s kindness, generosity and spirited nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
