WOODVILLE – The Tyler County Heritage Society invites you to attend the dedication and renaming of the Heritage Village “Buggy Barn” to honor the memory of Durwood Ling, longtime volunteer, board member and supporter of Heritage Village.
The celebration will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, as we dedicate the “Durwood Ling Wagon & Buggy Barn” to honor and recognize Ling’s contributions to Heritage Village.
In 2005, Ling collected trees felled by Hurricane Rita. He milled and treated lumber from the logs and then constructed the Wagon and Buggy Barn at Heritage Village. The Barn houses a unique collection of 24 vintage wagons and buggies that thousands of visitors have enjoyed.
Sadly, Ling passed away earlier this year, but his legacy will live on through his work at Heritage Village.
Admission is free to the event on Friday, as friends and supporters gather to dedicate the structure as the Durwood Ling Wagon & Buggy Barn.
