Livingston Police Department officers were dispatched to Walmart around 3 p.m. Monday for a burglary in progress.
When officers arrived, they found a white male, identified as Nicolas Williams, 36, of Lufkin, who was detained by a bystander and an off-duty Polk County Sheriff’s deputy.
After an investigation, it was determined that Williams parked, opened the door of a truck parked next to him, and removed property.
The owner of the truck was nearby and confronted Williams. With assistance of a nearby off-duty Polk County Sheriff’s deputy, Williams was detained until officers arrived. Williams was arrested for burglary of a vehicle.
