Carolyn Sue Umfrid, 73, of Warren, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, surrounded by loving family.
Born December 22, 1950, in Galena Park, Texas, to Willie and Addie Bartee, she lived there until she moved to Warren nine years ago. She was retired from the Harris County Tax Office. Carolyn enjoyed doing crafts and growing a large garden, where she shared the produce with family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren but especially enjoyed her great-grandchildren, who were her whole heart. She loved backroading with the love of her life, her husband, Billy, where they would ride for hours exploring the county’s beauty.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Willie Joe Bartee and her mother, Addie Bell Sanders Bartee.
She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Wayne Umfrid; children, Larry Umfrid and Teresa Gomez and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Natalie Gilstrap, Samantha Umfrid, Brooke Herren-Briceno and Ryan Herren; great grandchildren, Kayden Gilstrap, Jaxon Gilstrap, Avery Gilstrap, Ryley Gilstrap and Eliana Briceno; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, at 1 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Allison Cemetery in Warren, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 12 pm until 1 pm.
Larry Umfrid, Tony Gomez, Wendell Bierbaum, Wendell Bierbaum II, Jordan Bierbaum, and Ryan Herren will serve as pallbearers.
