Charles Brown

Charles Victor Brown, 78, of Conroe, Texas, returned to his Lord and Savior on June 5, 2025. Born November 11, 1946, in Pasadena, Texas, Charlie Brown arrived four years before that other beloved Charlie Brown made his debut. He graduated in 1965 from Pasadena High School, where his classmates voted him class clown. Outside the classroom, he began to hone his natural talent as a salesman at a children’s shoe store in the mall.

Charles went on to build a successful sales career in the heavy equipment industry, which won him many friends and the respect of colleagues across the state of Texas and beyond its borders. He could sell you a tractor whether you needed one or not, and his family will forever think of him when they see the famous green and yellow John Deere logo.

Charlie loved a good baseball cap, country drives, an East Texas sky dotted with pines, Elvis, his cows and dogs and cats, the farm, and most of all his family – his kids, Natalie and Matthew, and his wife, Teresa, with whom he shared the nickname Brownie. His laugh was contagious, and he was known for mispronouncing words in a way that made you question whether maybe you’d just heard it wrong your whole life, and it really is misconscrewed.

He will be remembered for his wit and kindness – and for his love of children. He enjoyed teasing kids he met by asking them whether they were married, and the younger the child, the more serious the questioning and the more joyful the delight would be. He demonstrated his love and devotion to his children in many ways, including attending countless soccer and baseball games and his fair share of dance recitals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Gerald Brown and Leona Dorothy Cain Brown Ellison; stepfather, Jack Ellison; brother, Ben Brown; and brother-in-law, Victor Galloway Jr.

Charles is survived by his wife, Teresa Brown; his children and their partners, Natalie Brown and Collin Bost and Matthew Brown and Monica Balboa; grandchildren, Laszlo Bost and Maria, Mia, Jacob, and Josiah Balboa; nephews, Christopher Brown and wife Kristen, Michael Chessher, and Jeff Galloway and wife Deena; and nieces, Melissa Chessher and Vickie Hartmann Rachal; sisters-in-law, Wilbur Lee Schubert and Brenda Ogden Booth; and brother-in-law, Paul Mack Galloway and wife Alice; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Charles’s life will be held June 26 at Providence First Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11. The family invites everyone to join them for lunch in the church’s fellowship hall afterward.
