City to sponsor contest, strategic planning

Posted

Coldspring Senior Center's Fish Friday was sponsored last week by Carriage House Farm and Vineyard, owned by Mayor John Benestante and his wife, Judi. The mayor is looking to the future of the city through strategic planning for the future, and the Benestantes are spearheading this with other community leaders.

The city has been awarded a Resilient Communities Program Grant of $300,000 to study the current status and objects found in the City. This is a long-term plan for the next 5, 10 and 20 years to come.

Judi Benestante has eye-catching flyers for “Fall in Love with Coldspring.” Businesses may join a scarecrow decorating competition to be judged on Oct. 17 at the Wolf Creek Car, Bike and Truck Show. The prize is one-week free advertising on the City Hall Sign.

Decorate your scarecrow, place it at the entrance of your business with a sign which states "Fall In Love with Coldspring." Email Anne at cslatours@gmail.com.
