COLDSPRING — The Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD Board of Trustees are reaffirming their desire for a superior school system, by setting goals for Superintendent Bryan Taulton to drive academic achievement in a similar direction as the district’s finance.
Taulton said that at the Oct. 28 meeting, the board discussed the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas results, in which the district received a superior rating — 96, which is an A — meaning the district is in good financial shape and has good financial practices.
Additionally, the trustees approved campus improvement plans and superintendent goals.
Taulton said those goals include spurring academic achievement of all students, ensuring successful student transitions between different school levels; creating a climate of support to improve teacher retention and recruitment; and maintaining safety for both students and staff.
“We want everyone to remember we’re here to serve students and staff,” he said.
