Community Fair one of the most anticipated events of the year

Posted

In three more days, it will be one of the most fun months in the entire year.

On Wednesday, Trinity 4-H and FFA students will bring their projects to the Trinity Community Center to be entered and shown and judged during the Fair on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Each student is hoping to be the first-place winner for the farm animals they raised. and that the animal will be sold and judged for their hard work and showmanship for 2026. The aim is to earn awards and lots of money for their animals.

The Trinity Community Fair Association is hosting their 77th Annual Fair and Livestock Show this weekend. This is one of the last free fairs in Texas. Everything to look at and listen to is free.

The music, entertainment, buyers’ luncheon, and live auctions are free to everyone who supports our local children. Everyone enjoys free entrance to the event and even parking is still free.

The Trinity community hosts lots of events in October, such as a fair with a carnival with rides and game booths; a community fall church festival; a pumpkin patch; the Veterans Wall of Honor fundraiser; a countywide Clean-Up Day; Treats on the Street; a car show; a 42 Domino Tournament; football games; a chili cook-off; a dance; garage sales; and much more.

In fact, about every special event in Trinity City is free, and you only pay for what you purchase or eat. Only the Professional performers at churches, or non-profit fundraisers charge or ask for donations. Most churches give more than they receive to our citizens and ask for nothing in return. Our community gives to every person that is in need.

We are lucky to have so many community and county events that citizens seem to enjoy year after year. The major events that fall once a year never change, but sometimes the day or location changes.

For instance, the Trinity Veterans Wall of Honor Society this year will be on Oct. 24 instead of the last Saturday in October because of Halloween falling on the last Saturday this year. The veteran event has been on the last Saturday in October for 17 years.

Also, their location changed because their sponsor sold the Scheelbillies location. Now the event will be held at the Trinity VFW Post 6899 on Oct. 24 from noon to 6 p.m.
