The Prevention Resource Center, Region 5, in partnership with the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Council (ADAC), is hosting “Clearing the Air: A Conversation on Vaping & Tobacco,” a free public event focused on the growing impact of vaping and tobacco use across East Texas.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday at the Livingston-Polk County Chamber of Commerce located at 1001 US Hwy. 59 Loop North in Livingston. A virtual attendance option will also be available via Zoom.

This conversation is especially relevant for parents, school personnel, youth advocates, and public health professionals. The session will explore current trends, health effects, and prevention strategies tied to vaping and tobacco use – particularly among youth.

The event will include data, resources and open dialogue to better equip schools, families and community organizations to address these critical public health issues.

Kim Arrington, LPC, Co-Founder of Connected Path Recovery, will serve as the keynote speaker. With over 30 years of experience in addiction treatment and mental health education, Arrington brings a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities surrounding substance use prevention in Texas communities.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required and space is limited. To register, scan the QVC code. For more information, contact Kim Bartel at kbartel@adacdet.org or 936-631-8785.
