Funeral services for Deborah Sylestine, 69, of Livingston, Texas, were held Friday, June 19, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Indian Presbyterian Church in Livingston, Texas with Debra Battise-Kleinman, CRE officiating. Interment followed at the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. A wake was held Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 6 p.m. at the church.



Deborah, who graduated from Kirby High School, was born March 16, 1957 in Livingston, Texas and passed away June 15, 2026 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Taylor Sylestine and Edna Faye Battise Sylestine; brother, Ronald Sylestine; sister-in-law, Melinda Sylestine; and brother-in-law, Larry Langley.



She is survived by her husband, Amon Sylestine of Livingston, Texas; son, Travis Sylestine and Shelley of Houston, Texas; daughters, Tanisha Sylestine and Christopher, and Debrina Sylestine and Arthur Jr., all of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Aiden Sylestine, Alexander Sylestine, Adrian Avila, Dreston Sylestine-Dirden, and Kalila Sylestine-Dirden; sister, Terrah Langley of Livingston, Texas; brother, Dedera Don Sylestine of Livingston, Texas; coworker of almost 37 years, Peggy Williams; and special friends, Ben and Arlene Thompson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.



Pallbearers were Danny Renfro, Landon Segura, Lance Battise, Dee Ray Pittman, Second Chief Herb Johnson Jr., Julian Sylestine, Kirk Sylestine, and Richard “Ricardo” Mejia. Honorary pallbearer was Principal Chief Donnis Battise.
