COLDSPRING — A Coldspring man was arrested Wednesday after law enforcement agencies were able to talk him out of a barricaded home.

The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office Task Force, along with patrol deputies, received information that a wanted individual was residing in the Coldspring area.

When law enforcement officials arrived at the home, the male subject, who has not been identified, barricaded himself inside a residence. Deputies began communication through a loudspeaker system with the suspect, and after a brief standoff, he peacefully exited the home and was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect was wanted by the U.S. Marshal’s Service on charges of indecency with a child.

Sheriff Sam Houston said he commends the professionalism and restraint shown by all deputies involved, which led to a safe resolution for everyone.
